Microsoft Philanthropies: Empowering People to Achieve More
Microsoft aims to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
Microsoft is an essential partner in bringing the HTML500 to life! Without their support and resources, we wouldn't be able to bring free tech education across the country. Microsoft is well known for their community involvement, which you can learn more about below.
At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Delivering on this mission starts with great technology, but great technology alone if not enough. Through Microsoft Philanthropies, we’re investing in Microsoft’s strongest assets to drive greater inclusion and empowerment of people who do not have access to technology and the opportunities it offers and enables.
Three years ago, we launched Microsoft YouthSpark, a cross-company initiative that created educational, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for more than 300 million youth around the world. We will continue to work in partnership with governments, nonprofit organizations and businesses as we now focus this initiative on providing opportunities for all youth to learn computer Science.
We also work towards empowering the modern nonprofit through Microsoft Cloud. Eligible organizations can access Microsoft cloud product donations, such as Office 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, Enterprise Mobility and Power BI for free or at a significant discount. These software donation programs provide nonprofits the ability to access web-based versions of the Office tools anywhere, give access to professional email, web conferencing, file sharing and so much more!
Microsoft employees worldwide are dedicated to making a difference in their communities as they give generously their time and skills set to a wide range of programs like our Hour of Code events or Digigirlz. With every employee delivering on our mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, come great success stories. Stories like that of Genevieve L’Esperance; a McGill University student teaching girls that computer science is a viable career option. “YouthSpark helped me recognize my passion for computer science, and now I’m using my skills to help other girls discover theirs”. Through Microsoft Philanthropies, we're investing Microsoft’s strongest assets to drive greater inclusion and empowerment of people who do not have access to technology and the opportunities it offers and enables. As we do so, we will build on the foundation of Microsoft’s 30-plus years of giving, seeking new ways to achieve greater outcomes for a broader segment of the world’s population.
